Emmanuel Lutheran Church reaches
out with other churches in the Springfield Township. We seek to help
others both directly and in partnership. Many of our members also give freely of their time as volunteers as they live out their baptismal call in ministry to others in their vocation.
Feeding Program
A monthly food distribution is held on the third Saturday of each month out of our facility. Our church building also houses a food pantry which is stocked by food drives from various sources in the community for emergency needs.
If you need food assistance, please contact the church office.
Other Social Concerns
Our congregation participates in Clothing drives, blood drives, and blood pressure screening. Throughout the year several offerings are gathered and donated to local and national social concerns. The Women of the ELCA- WELCA supports Lutheran World Relief
through quilt making projects, the fair trade coffee project, and through World Hunger and
disaster relief efforts. Our men's Bible fellowship recently began to partner with other Lutheran churches in the area in a unified effort to make faith active in love by reaching out to those in need. Our members have the opportunity to serve regularly at Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley. Our congregation will soon be participating on mission trips
in the local area, nationwide and abroad. Be watching the
News page for up-coming trips. |
